Sustainable Policy as a Summer Job?

I am one of 15 students selected to be a Summer Research Intern for the USC Center for the Political Future and the USC Wrigley Institute for Environment and Sustainability. This summer, I'm excited to explore how environmental policy can impact our everyday lives and community systems!

CAUTION: History Research Paper Submitted!

I recently submitted my original academic history research paper From Consensus to Caution: United States Climate Policy from 1979 to 1990 to the Concord Review to apply for publication. My paper argues that although scientific consensus on anthropogenic warming had emerged by the late 1970s, policymakers and industry increasingly framed climate action through the language of cost, caution, and competitiveness, using vocabulary that shaped what responses appeared politically reasonable, which helped delay binding commitments. Since the paper is currently under review, at this time I cannot publish the contents of this paper.

Future Chicken: Back Again?

Following my feature on the Friends of Future Chicken Show (2026), found on YouTube Kids CBC Kids/Gem, I was invited for another episode on the show to feature my journey as a kid worried about climate change to...still a kid, but an activist fighting climate change through clean energy activism in my city with Pasadena 100 and food waste systems building with Sortify. For the young audience, I detail my experiences learning to speak to adults and the impact that even kids can make on their communities.

The Next Generation

Following planning and organizing Los Angeles Climate Week's NextGen Climate Policy Summit as a leader of the Youth Programming Group, I wrote about my experience attending the event, which was published in Local News Pasadena. What struck me was not just the event itself, which connected students with real policymakers and provided us a framework to create lasting policy that our leaders will actually consider, but the way it invited youth to be a part of the climate movement, not just as a spokesperson or a badge, but as a real stakeholder with a seat at the table.
